SuSE Linux appeared on PC World shelves for a while, but the rapid turn
round of Linux distros puts them at a disadvantage when it comes to
retail shelves.
Five years between Windows releases gives time to sell, 18 months
between OS X releases gives time to sell. Six months between Linux
releases is too short. No dealer wants unsold stock and if they can't
sell SuSE 10 before 10.1 appears they're either stuck with it or they
refuse to stock it.
