*Yawn* What...? Another company dumps Windows?
You yawn, but not for the right reason, royboy! If switching 90PCs is
news, then it must have been a very slow news day or else linux is so
dead that 90 machines looks like a resurrection! LOL!!!
There are several hundred million PCs shipping annually now and if
linux were so much as 0.25% of the total,
50 million per year is what bloomberg says:
http://www.iht.com/articles/2005/07/19/business/pcsales.php
" Worldwide shipments of personal computers rose 16.6 percent on sales
of laptops and on demand in Europe and Africa, beating the 12 percent
gain IDC predicted in May. Shipments rose to 46.6 million from 39.9
million a year earlier, IDC said. According to Gartner, shipments rose
15 percent to 48.9 million machines, beating its forecast by two
percentage points."
Also, as I keep pointing out, the worlds largest distributer of PCs,
Dell, has about a 20 percent marketshare. The total of the Big 5,
Dell 20
HP 16
Gateway ?
Lenovo 5
Apple 5
That leaves a whole lot of independents worldwide to sell whatever OS
they choose.
