A similar question/statement was raised about half a year ago. I recall it
rather well. So, another adventurous man decides that the wheel can be made
more round than it already is. Now let's consider the complexity involved in
selecting packages, keeping them up-to-date, and resolving various conflicts
that require a set of testers and long testing cycles.

Taking Debian or a derivative thereof (like Kerala or Munich) is a
possibility. But why not make use of an existing derivative? It might be
cheaper. Kubuntu seems like a good candidate.
