AM,
Here are some more recent news (starting with the less interesting item).
Mandriva Linux 2007 Released

| "For Mandriva Linux 2007, we decided to go back to the roots of
| Mandriva's success: integration of the latest technology into a
| stable, consistent and easy to use system, in the spirit of open
| source and choice that only Mandriva is able to offer," says Florent
| "Warly" Villard, Consumer Product Manager of Mandriva.

It seems like Gaël (I imagine that he still reads this newsgroup on
occasions) works on a type of Web-based Mandriva. It's rather vague (there's
that screenshot), but have a look at the discussion that follows.
Gaël Duval said MORE to Graham Morrison (LXF)

| Understandably, Duval is keeping his cards very close to his chest, but
| you can't fail to notice that in the screenshot he sent us, Ulteo is
| running inside a web browser. What's more, the screenshot also shows
| Duval creating a presentation on the 'Ulteo Connected Desktop'.

Sounds like a neat idea. It definitely sets this project apart from the
overcrowded arena of natively-installed GNU/Linux distributions.
