There is a LOT of truth in that FAQ, not for Linux or Linux advocacy in
the real world, but for COLA and the so called *advocacy* that occurs here
specifically.
Now would you like it Roy if we all emailed your University, PHD program
administrator, your mentor, your professors, the alumni association and
everyone else we could find associated with your school and clued them in
to your little operation of using the schools computer systems to post
10's or 1000's of articles to USENET?
You may have a few friends in the comp.sci department that will squash it,
but when it reaches the alumni association and all the other people with
nothing better to do than give money to the school and attend fancy
parties...
.... well that's going to be a totally different story.
And just for the record Roy, I don't condone anyone reporting you anymore
than I condone you reporting others.
IOW you had better be real careful where you tread because there are some
serious nuts out there and I am not talking about you and I....
I've been here for 10+ years and I have only reported ONE single person
and that was because of a direct, physical threat from a person I honestly
consider unstable.
Not just joking around (COLA Nut etc), but a real psycho.
He still posts here from time to time and he plays both sides of the
debate.
Just some sage advice.........
