Remember that Microsoft has lost over half of its cash piles in the past 2
years. Nobody wants Vista and Office 2007 and other business units (XBox/Zune
in entertainment, Windows Mobile) lose a lot of money. The whole forced
upgrades idea works too badly when it comes to revenue, especially if it takes
5 years for a new product to come and it's actually a step back. That explains
Microsoft's Google envy (subscription/ad-sponsored software).
