As far as I can tell/remember, he said /nothing/ about Linux. He only spoke
about pirated Windows. Gates was probably more embarrassed than flattered by
this, according to a mainstream media article that I read. It's also
damaging to Microsoft's reputation and PR. Reasons:
1) (Some of) Romania does not buy Windows, so there's no choice or genuine
interest... no validation of value
2) Microsoft turns a blind eye to piracy because it's convenient
3) Microsoft requires monoculture (network effect) to survive
4) It's okay to pirate Microsoft product. If Romania does, then so can /x/
Would you please provide a quote that shows Linux got mentioned in these
discussions? If not, then please retract your trollish flamebait.
