``Software company VirnetX...seeking damages and an injunction against
Microsoft.''
Does this injunction include all cases in use by end users, in which case
are those end users going to have to stop using whatever is infringing and
is MS going to indemnify them?[1]
[1] the full extend of the EULA: $5.00?
Time to bin all these software patents? Just like Microsoft, the company
refuses to be specific. Microsoft has never actaully said what so-called
'intellectual property' Linux is using or what patent infringement it has in
mind. And Microsoft is often the one mimicking others. It's just about
scaring Linux users. It's FUD.
``In its suit, VirnetX said that Microsoft is infringing on its two patents,
but does not list which specific Microsoft products it says are infringing.
A Microsoft representative said the company has yet to be served with court
papers in the case, so it has not seen or reviewed the complaint.''
One presumes that the court papers would be specific?[2]
[2] Then again, in the case of "infringing SCO IP" they haven't been very
specific despite being repeatedly /ordered/ [by the court] to be so.
