I have been following this blog for a while. He had Linux (Edubuntu)
installed on all the computers, but was forced to change to Windows because
of stupid school/regional policies. Now they wish to dump these PC's... just
because Windows is so easy to compromise.

I got this on Groklaw News Picks, so he then got Linux advice from many
people. A week later he got in trouble (local authorities) for getting all
this attention and I believe he removed this post into draft (I imagine the
above URL is still broken). He said this in a followup blog item.

There is always some talk among managers and people who dine together. While
they can't prevent Russian schools from using Linux, the rules in the
American schools are different. The mafia there works under the table and it
often benefits monpolies with money and influences (if not bullies). Example
