- Better hardware support
- Far better security model
- Kernel space does not include GUI by default (although little bits of the
GUI in the form of nvidia drivers may be used if needed)
- almost infinitely customisable, from a very slim single purpose to
supporting almost everything.
- Many available filesystems and hard disk partition formats available
(from old stuff like minix, fat12, amiga, etc, to advanced like xfs)
