At 25, Sun struggles to reinvent itself

One might wonder if, having eliminated SCO, Linux will get Microsoft
before it gets Sun. Sun is at least willing to evolve in order to compete.
Microsoft loses market share (or grows more slowly than Linux) while Sun
has apparently gained.

Sun likes what it sees in the new GPL

I also noticed that SGI is has included Linux in their lineup. After viewing their site over time, it appears that IRIX hasn't been updated in over a year.

They have given up on IRIX/MIPS last year, IIRC. They only do Linux now, but
don't take my word for it. They also managed to escape bankruptcy. Somehow.
Unisys is another example.

I remember Unisys from the old days. Right now, they don't do much of anything. But if SGI isn't careful, they will eventually head for bankruptcy with that Itanic around their neck (IA64). From what I've seen in the markets, vendors like HP seems to have dumped the Itanium.
