Ah, so Microsoft are dropping a proportion of support for Firewire,
then, or they're reducing their support for Firewire, or, perhaps most
likely, they've taken the first step in a long-term plan to abandon
Firewire users completely.
I suppose on major question for those unfortunate enough to be trying to
use Firewire on Windows is how long before the remaining support is
withdrawn? One would need a timetable in order to move to an
alternative platform which does have the required support.
