And Microsoft Vista is being heavily promoted as the reason why people
shouldn't buy 64 bit processor based systems and put Linux on them, why
OEMs should install Vista instead of Linux on these high-end machines.

But Roy is pointing out one of the reasons why Vista should be "shut
out" in favor of Linux.
Microsoft is determined to squeeze every possible dollar out of the
last release of Windows to be put out by Bill Gates. He's about to
retire.

Will there be another release of Windows after Vista?
Will windows ever be secure?
Will Microsoft find some way to suck up 8 gigabytes of RAM with eye
candy?
Will Microsoft learn to "play nice" with Linux?
Will Microsoft make a profit on Windows for Linux?
Will OEMs continue to install Windows Vista
   on 64 bit machines,
even though Vista is only 32 bit,
the 64 bit version doesn't work,
and there are no 64 bit applications for Vista yet,
when Linux already has a full compliment of 64 bit applications
ready to go.
and Linux can run Windows applications
without sucking up every megabyte of RAM for 1 application?

How much longer can Microsoft continue
   to lock out 1000 competitors,
while adding dozens more to the lock-out list every month,
   with each "security fix"?

How much longer will Independent Software vendors continue to produce
Windows-only software when the only thing standing between them and a
Microsoft Lock-out based bankruptcy is a court order which the current
administration has no intention of enforcing?

How much longer will Webmasters continue to produce Windows-only
IE-only content when the 30% who are using FireFox are corporate
decision makers who don't want to waste time loading IE just to look at
your sorry sight?

How much longer before the needs of information life-cycle manageent
outweigh the needs of sticking with proprietary files that can't be
reliably archived because the applications designed to read those
versions aren't even available anymore.

How many more crimes must Microsoft executives admit to, before the
plaintiff and attorneys general decide that they will not grant
immunity, no matter how much the company contributes to the party.
