It's only by comparison that you can get a feel for how good or bad
something is. I laughed when a friend of mine received the instructions
below on how to resolve the problem he's been having with his cordless
USB mouse on XP. Can anyone truthfully say that your average user could
manage to do what Logitech support are recommending here?

To resolve the issue, please try using the mouse on a different USB
port. If the device exhibits the same functionality on the USB port
also then follow the steps below.

1. Unplug all USB devices 2. a. Open regedit, export registry file to
c:\windows temp b. Remove the all VID's from HKEY_LOCAL _MACHINE |
System | CurrentControlSet | Enum | USB ( for Windows 2000 and
Windows XP) b. Remove the all VID's from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Enum\USB
(for Windows 98 and Windows 95) c. Close regedit 3. Open device
manager, click the + next to Universal Serial Bus Controllers, remove
the USB Root Hub and then the Universal host controller 4. Restart
Machine 5. Windows will redetect the USB controller and root hub 6.
Restart machine again 7. Make sure your computer is turned on and
re-plug the USB devices one at a time and restart machine after each
device.

Should the issue persists, please write back to me.

BTW it's good to see COLA still going, even if it's a bit over much Comp.Os.Roy.S :-)
