A lot of the stuff in Linux (e.g. installation in Ubuntu Linux) is more
intuitive than in Windows. The cost of acquiring new skills is low given
that there's similarity between the operating systems. Security is improved
and key applications such as a Web browser are the same. Those who fear
repartitioning will often not require more than just E-mail, Web surfing and
some work with an office suite.
