chip used key escrow, therefore no cracking would be needed.


Shortly after it was introduced to the public, it was cracked
and found to be completely ineffective for security purposes.

Actually, it is NSAs business when dealing with all forms of encryption methods. Remember when Radio Shack got hauled on the carpet over their RND() function? NSA wanted the code.
