The context is a bit confusing, as most of these appear
to be suggestions to the advocate/evanglist, rather than
to Linux proper. The ten are, boiled down a bit:

1. Use it.

2. Become an expert.

3. It's the applications. (Consistency? Oh well.
In any event the general idea is to avoid trying to
convert Microsoft apps that can't be substituted for,
and substitute when possible. The text may need to be
clarified here, obviously.)

4. Make Toast. (Linux need not be only on the desktop.
Firewalls, appliances, and such.)

5. Don't bash the competition. (Accentuate the positive,
don't point out the negative. Microsoft is not *all* evil,
and makes lots of useful tools; ditto for Apple, FreeBSD,
etc. etc.)

6. Smart Human Tricks (stealth GNU/Linux implementations,
among other things CUPS and Samba).

7. Research the Hardware. (Always good advise before
switching someone else -- if one can do it.)

8. Don't Assume Anything. (Murphy was an optimist, and
pointy-hairededness is everywhere.)

9. Show the benefits. (Set up a demo and roll.)

10. It's OK to buy GNU/Linux. (The support can be a
benefit; don't be afraid to budget if necessary.)

A bit repetitive in spots, but AFAICT good advice.

Linux. Because life's too short for a buggy OS.
