Your philosophy seems to be extreme. Most objectionable have been truly
abusive posts that disrupt comp.os.linux.advocacy.
It is not okay to use homophobic terminology toward posters. It is not
okay to use extreme and abusive profanity toward posters.
It is not okay to post a poster's personal information in the newsgroup.
It is not okay to flood the newsgroup with automated drivel or simply
drivel that are off topic and of no interest to the posting community as a
whole.
It is not okay to post outright misrepresentations of truth, to mislead
readers.
Before you call some of the concerned community netcops, remember that any
concerned reader that complains to an ISP or Usenet provider is not the
cop. It is a function of the provider to investigate the allegations and
make their own determination whether a punitive action is warranted or
not. If punitive action is taken by the provider, it is because the
provider, not the concerned reader determined the abuse.
Also, there is no wrong in expressing an opinion regarding an abuse, when
it has occurred. There is no wrong in reminding the community of the
intentions (charter) of c.o.l.advocacy.
In following your philosophy, if you do not like the attitude of some of
the posting community, why do you not ignore it as you fancy?
IMHO, COLA Troll and Troll Feeders Blogspot is a low threat item and an
attempt by one reader, to identify those whom the individual felt were
trolls. It also identifies those who in the reader's opinion reply
excessive to trolls (troll feeding).
A 3,000 YO proverb states, "Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so
where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth." (Proverbs Chap. 26, Vs.
20, Authorised Version)
IMHO, the author's intention was to encourage "troll feeders" to not
respond to trolls. Is that in fact the author's real intentions? That I
cannot say. However similar to this proverb, since trolls seek attention,
the lack of replies thereof discourage thread perpetuation.
If you do not like it, you have the freedom to carry out your philosophy
and kill file the posts.
