Megan,
None of this is your fault. The tool you are using is designed to ignore many
of the acceptable rules, such as bottom-posting, trimming, wrapping, etc. It's
encouraging you to break netiquette guidelines.
Hopefully the advice given here was helpful (it is not the correct/appropriate
forum to address). Have you considered using a different mail and newsgroup
client? Thunderbird 2.0 is fantastic and it is capable of importing your work,
I believe.
