It is not "compromise"
The drafters of the GPL3 have a goal. But I strongly object to that goal. I
am every bit in favour of a licence like the GPL2, but I am strongly
opposed to a licence like the GPL3 which tries to achieve "political" goals

Seems so. And that is (thankfully) the reason that at least the kernel will
stay at GPL2 for now.
