Linux in a position of disadvantage because what makes is so strong is
independence from a Cathedral (control). This also means that any marketing
efforts (even by Red Hat or IBM) benefit some of their (Linux) rivals too.
At the end of the day, this means little or no marketing. To those who still
rely on brainwash when choosing a product, this can be an issue. Other
issues include briberies, lobbyists, existing law, perception of economics
(software being a product/commodity, which it clearly is /NOT/), and
business relationships.
