I would suggest also looking at Callweaver (formerly OpenPBX). It's a fork
from Asterisk due to ideological differences between themselves and
Digium. There are plans to replace the SIP Stack (something I personally
have considered a big weakness in Asterisk). As well, they have apparently
removed the hardware requirement for the conferencing bridge.
