Linux deveolpment has, IMHO, been organised for many years. What we
are seeing today is web services taking over making the client OS all
but irrelevant. That is what is scaring the shit out of Microsoft.

Web services, whether intranet ot internet, are the domain of *nix.
Backend servers are the domain of *nix. Any company that values their
internet presence does not use Microsoft for their mission critical
services.

OS neutral web services is the future. This is why Microsoft are
running scared. They cannot compete in an OS neutral envronment when
their OS is fundamentally insecure. It is happening now where I work.
More and more services are OS neutral web based.
