Verily I say unto thee, that Roy Schestowitz spake thusly:

And since Swfdec is FOSS, it can be built by one and all to different
architectural targets ... such as AMD64. This means I'm another step
closer to having a legacy-free system without 32bit versions of e.g.
Firefox (64bit browsers need 64bit plugins).

I recall a wrapper that purported to enable using plugins from different
arch's (tried it ... didn't work).

The last barrier to full 64bit browsing now is Sun, who rather
idiotically produce a 64bit version of everything *but* one tiny little
plugin required by browsers. Idiots. Of course there's always Blackdown
Java, which I seem to recall trying (and it *did* work).

Oh well, Swfdec and Blackdown it is then, and Nnnyyeer to Adobe and Sun.
May they languish in the prehistoric pit of the dark and dingy past,
while the enlightened wave cheerily to them, as we go skipping and
jumping off into the sunny future.
