I hadn't realised how bad adverts can be until I started reading a few RSS
feeds in Thunderbird, which hasn't any 'brainwash protection'. Most
obnoxious are the animated ones. The advertisers get miserable for
attention. Would you believe that InfoWorld started sending spam-per-day
just because I left a comment in some blog of theirs? Nowhere on the site
did it say I was giving consent for promotional junk. The Web is getting out
of hand, but plugins cab make it behave better.
