What people? Most of them still buy PCs with XP, Linux or Mac OS X. Those who
get it with Vista (especially businesses) wipe it almost immediately. Even
Microsoft's CEO has just described Vista as "work in progress", even 15 months
after its release.

Vista will always be work in progress. Windows is a dead-end street and radical
changes (rip and replace) are required, which cannot preserve backward
compatibility anyway.

What Microsoft attempted with TCP/IP (replacing the BSD implementation with
protocols that server as a DRM ramp) led to even more vulnerabilities, just as
McAfee predicted almost 2 years ago. One of these flaws meant that Vista and
its siblings (Server 2008 to-be) could be hijacked by merely sending a
specially-crafted packet.

Code needs to evolve and mature healthily and Microsoft knows that it blew it.
It tries to change rules and buy time.

What's important now is to protect Linux from more Microsoft bullying,
including those 'taxation' attempts, passing of 'laws', raping of 'standards'
bodies like ISO and other forms of corruption.

A lot of Microsoft staff is leaving, just like former ISO staff. Maybe they are
just seeing a lot of {corruption of desperation}^TM, so they leave early to
dissociate themselves from it. Sadly enough, this means that only the least
ethical people survive (decide to stay) in the company, which makes it evolve
into a mafia without a self-balancing component that it self correcting and
balancing.

Which top execs are left after this past year's exodus? Hmmm.... just Ballmer.
It figures.
