Verily I say unto thee, that Roy Schestowitz spake thusly:

This is exactly how one should "protect" one's ideas, by establishing
prior art, rather than abusing unethical laws to create monopolies.

However I still believe that the OIN's "Mexican stand-off" protection
is a poor excuse for welcoming Microsoft's poisonous technology, like
Mono, with open arms into Free Software.  That's a bit like willingly
rolling the Trojan Horse (filed with the enemy's soldiers) across the
drawbridge, just for the sake of having a free wooden horse.

Why would we want to willingly help our self-declared enemy?

Maybe one day Waugh and de Icaza will answer that question.
