In the UK I would hope that the Sale of Goods Act would protect
consumers from this form of abuse. I have no idea if the US or any other
country has similar laws, but if they don't then they should.
I take it then that you are in favour of HP allowing a third party to
impose additional restrictions to HP's goods, that their customers must
agree to without option, /after/ the sale, or are you just trolling me
for no particular reason.
