Large companies are essentially mobs.

This problem is magnified by the fact that we have a cult of 
psuedo-libertarianism that not only tolerates this but 
encourages this.

There is no real accountability and corporations are encouraged
to do all sort of inherently evil things for the sake of the 
short term appearance of profitability.

In general, human politics does not scale well. Large corporations
and large governments are both a reflection on this. Power is
concentrated and responsibility is dispersed. At least corporations
have some motivation to be efficient with respect to their own goals.

Large governments don't even have this.
