The number of such applications appears to be declining though, not just
because applications are being ported over but also because new substitutes
arrive, if not as native applications then as web-based applications
(platform-agnostic). Some years ago in my job I needed a Windows application,
so I just rdesktop'ed to $Employes's Windows server. A year later this
application became Web-based, so I no longer had to connect to remote Windows
machine.
