I installed 7.04 on my older box at home and it has just 256MB of RAM. The Live
CD flew. Once installed, It works like a charm, even with Compiz using the
onboard graphics acceleration.

6.06 is supported for quite some time to come, whereas 7.04 has just reached
EoL (can upgrade it in-place, so RAM is not an issue).
