Well, almost.

He stopped one step short of actually calling Roy Schestowitz a liar.
However he basically calls Roy Schestowitz arrogant and tells Roy
Schestowtiz to get lost and take it to his own Blog.

Roy Schestowitz:

I can't help wondering why the editor accepts links from Jeff Gould, who is
very clearly on a battle against Linux and Free software. Isn't this a site
for Linux users?

Yes, Roy, it is. Don't Linux users need to hear all points of view about
Linux, right or wrong, good or bad? Or do Linux users have to only get to
hear one side of the argument?

You don't give LT readers enough credit for intelligence. Do you think
their delicate natures can't handle differing opinions? Or is it supposed
to be "fair and balanced" like Fox News?

There's something I want to address in your comment. There's your assertion
that Gould is part of group of like-minded analysts and this is all "same
!#@%$, different day." I can buy that, because I know the
pro-Linux/free/open analysts sit around from time to time having a drink
and shooting ideas back and forth.

While I don't dispute your assertion, you should agree that such a
connection is not a generally known concept to the community at large.
Therefore, shouldn't readers see for themselves what Gould is saying and
judge him on his own merits? Perhaps they will say, "hmm, that sounds a lot
like so-and-so," and draw their own conclusions. Perhaps they will decide
he's not worth listening to. Perhaps they will agree with him. Who are we
to say?

My default position has always been let all sides be heard. If that means
LT lends "validity" to someone's arguments that you don't believe deserves
it, then talkbacks are a big way of expressing that. Or e-mail.

Besides, Roy, you have your own site. Go tackle this article yourself.
Maybe LT will link to it. :)

Of course Roy ultimately comes crawling back and apologizes but they are
crocodile tears as we all know.
Besides, Roy knows not to bite the hand that is feeding him, indirectly, by
allowing him to spew over there and keep his benefactors happy.
