  95% of the distros available today aren't even relevant to 95%
of the end users. So it's a silly thing to day anyways.

  Linspire's problems have to do with how Linspire approaches the
world and Linux. They have nothing to do with Ubuntu. This means
at the same time they manage to "not be Linux enough" and "not be
windows enough" putting themselves in an odd and bad spot.

   Ubuntu is a sort of no compromises approach to what Linspire
was doing. This means that percieved gains are not made by 
sacrificing any appeal to the original core audience.

   It's not about "resources". 

   Contributors are and always have been the key resource. This can
be programmers or the community tech support. The free software 
approach is meant to attract and retain these contributors. Those
contributors are who build the system.

   I am not sure if Linspire ever quite got this.
