Nearly every other company hasn't corrupted the system to the extent
that MS has. Nearly every other company doesn't have such influence
that MS has, such that it is almost impossible to not do business with
them ..

See a current example of such corruption. What's extraordenary is how
totally ethically blind the 'technical evangelist' is revealed to be.
It isn't as if he paused for a moment to consider if subverting the
process was wrong. Same with their current attitude towards ECMA.
