Solaris and linux aren't microsoft style kluges.  No optimization is needed
or even possible.  What are they going to do, invent a new library
interface, rewrite MYSQL to use it and then put a piss poor version of the
interface library for linux releases?  Sun will endorse bill gates for
president first.
