Arch Linux - Is this really a geek's distro?
,----[ Quote ]
| Arch Linux is not at all a geek's distribution as I have not found any
| installation, configuring problems. All it takes is you have to make use of
| the well documented wiki and user forums. Arch may not be suitable for the
| first time Linux user but if you had already installed and used a Linux
| variant then I highly recommend trying arch.

Arch 2007.08-2 Review

| Acrh Linux is lean, wicked and it allows all types to possibilities. It
| allows the user to custom tailor the distribution as per his/her taste. It
| has a great package manager. A package manager that is being used by lot of
| other distributions like frugalware, archie and faun. But I am unable the
| gauze the advantages pacman provides over apt-get.

Distros Don’t Drive Development
,----[ Quote ]
| Lots of press and people focus on Linux distributions when they check out
| what happens in Linux land. This and that distro come in new releases and
| they offer this and that brand new feature. This is also true of the many
| linux podcasts. They give credit to distros for new things that pop up.

Arch Linux Review
,----[ Quote ]
| I happen to believe that Arch is an excellent flavor of Linux that hasn't got
| the share of publicity and attention if deserves from the community yet.
|

|
| As I've said before I am a rather old Linux user, so I didn't expect to get
| easily impressed from a distro. Well guess what, I am! Arch is an excellent
| distribution I'd recommend to just about everyone that likes to get his hands
| dirty and has at least some experience in Linux.
| It keeps the simple methodology that Slackware has but presents it in a more
| easy, decent way. It is not a distro for absolute beginners, it does not
| promise a dozen features "out of the box" but once you get it rolling you'll
| be rewarded with an amazing distro. Trust me you'll love "the Arch way"!

Review: Arch64, Archlinux for 64bit processors
,----[ Quote ]
| I highly recommend Arch64. If you are looking for a great 64bit system
| and don't mind getting your hands dirty, this is the system for you. You
| only need a fast connection and some time. Pacman is the best package
| manager out there. ABS gives you freedom to create your own packages
| or customize packages for your machine.

Arch Linux 0.7.2 (Gimmick) Review
,----[ Quote ]
| I have finally found a distribution that fits all of my needs and
| won't hold my hand. Editing files is simple and educational as you
| learn how the system works. For the speed, stability, and the
| simplicity this distribution offers, it is no wonder that Arch is
| quickly becoming home for most power users as well as users who are
| willing to learn Linux.

Watching the Evolution of Arch Linux
,----[ Quote ]
| In closing, I would like to applaud the Arch Linux developer team for
| their efforts. They've done a great job so far and of course, they still
| have a long way in front of them too.
|
| If you like a speedy Linux, easy to learn and operate and you don't
| afraid of the command line, give Arch Linux a shot today. Its main
| ISO with X support is just 500 MBs (and then you built it from there
| adding more packages as you go along).

DreamLinux Live CD Review
,----[ Quote ]
| In the end, I have to say that I highly recommend this distro. Based on good
| old Debian, you will find software, hardware and life in general work really
| well with DreamLinux. If you are tired of the same old Linux distributions
| and want to try something with a unique feel, consider this distro. I did,
| and I have to say, I'm going to dedicate a machine to it so I can watch it
| grow.

Review: DreamLinux 2.2 Multimedia GL Edition
,----[ Quote ]
| I can't recommend DreamLinux to the average user, but only because the
| average user couldn't care less about multimedia production. DreamLinux is a
| great distro, with a rock-solid Debian base and a great app selection.
| Behold, my new rating system! Artwork and Community are now worth half a

Review of Dreamlinux 2.2 Media Edition (sort of)

| An odd distro that no one ever seems to discuss which looks good (at

Review: Dreamlinux 2.2
,----[ Quote ]
| When it comes to choosing a Linux distribution, people tend to stick
| with the major players, such as Ubuntu, SUSE, or Fedora. However,
| every once in a while a distro comes along that offers a look at
| Linux in a new and fun way. One such distribution is Dreamlinux,
| a Morphix-based implementation of Linux that can be run from a
| single CD or installed on a hard drive. Dreamlinux 2.2 aims to
| offer a full range of desktop applications while providing a
| wealth of multimedia tools for easy production of
| professional-grade media.

Dreamlinux 2.2
,----[ Quote ]
| Dreamlinux is one of the lesser known distributions, and certainly
| does not appear in the headlines with the same frequency as Ubuntu
| or openSUSE. However, it seems to have been ticking along nicely,
| with the 1.0 release about a year ago. Today, we're looking at
| DreamLinux 2.2, based on Debian with bits borrowed from Morphix.

DREAMLINUX : Not Quiet a Dream but still Good
,----[ Quote ]
| Speed Wise DreamLinux works like a charm being based on less resource
| hungry XFCE . Though i had some problem installing DreamLinux onto
| harddisk but overall DreamLinux is really good Linux Distro for
| someone new to Linux with a old hardware it works really well for
| playing Audio/Video files and surfing the internet and being based
| on XFCE and stable Debian platform is another plus. Overall you
| could give this distro a try it might not be a Ideal Dream OS but
| still is quiet functional and since can work as a LIVE CD mode so
| you should have no problem trying it out.

Dreamlinux 2.2 MME -- when dreams come true
,----[ Quote ]
| Dreamlinux is a fine distribution for a desktop multimedia center.
| It can already be a good competitor for other multimedia-centered
| distros like dyne:bolic or the Ubuntu clones like Linux Mint or
| Ubuntu Multimedia Center. If you are an experienced Linux user,
| Dreamlinux probably won?t offer you any extra value. But you may
| still consider recommending it for your non-geek friends that care
| for stability and great multimedia support out-of-the-box.
