I don't mimic OS X myself, but some people prefer it that way. KDE has
functionality that's a lot more powerful than this and Compiz-Fusion seems a
lot more impressive and fun.
As for stationery, are you trying to mimic Outlook? Have you looked at
Thunderbird and its extensions yet?
