The bracket thing is because he is over riding his Spam-O-Matic program.

Notice that in general when Roy gets involved in actual discussion he makes
an ass out of himself because he is just not very knowledgeable about the
topics being discussed.

This is one reason why he has "no time to comment" on digg.com.
He gets his head handed to him each time he tries.
