And some people wonder why we're cynical about the Gates "Fundation".
Microsoft and their lackeys are sick; twisted; evil little bastards, who
think nothing should exist or has any purpose other than to generate
riches at others' expense. They certainly don't care about software,
indeed (and I've noted this before) they might as well be stockbrokers
for all the difference it makes to their agenda.
And I take exception to the use of the word "charity" in that article.
Free Software is, in and of itself, no more about charity than any other
form of scientific endeavour, unless one believes that concepts such as
progress and the betterment of mankind counts as "charity". Monopolies,
OTOH, are about the "betterment" of an elite few, corrupted by power,
who abuse that power for greed, thus harming those they trample under
foot in their rush towards the pot of gold - whilst braying and
salivating like a pack of wild dogs.
Microsoft don't lack charity, they lack humanity, without which no other
altruistic concepts make any kind of sense. It's little wonder they seem
so incapable of understanding them.
