Windows 98 was probably better than Vista. And again, it also run OK with 32 MB
of RAM, it ran more software, the EULA was better and the competition (Linux,
Mac) didn't put it to quite so much shame. Microsoft lost the desire to
improve things, other than to improve sales of Intel chips (and elevating the
cost of Windows).
