Chickens Pecking Red Hat

| Novell-- meh. Once upon a time they were a determined, though unfortunately
| incompetent competitor to Microsoft. They had a network OS that supported
| pretty much anything you could throw into it, with all of the identity
| management and resource management and interoperability you could want. Now
| they're little better than a branch of Microsoft. It's a good thing the
| openSUSE project is slowly becoming more independent, because SUSE is worth
| salvaging.

| If I ask you who is Microsoft's biggest competitor now, who would it be?
|
| Ballmer: Open...Linux. I don't want to say open source. Linux, certainly have
| to go with that.

openSUSE 11.0; KDE 4.1 Improvements

| So far I’ve been really impressed with the latest release. Not only have the
| reviews been pretty much consistently positive because of some of the shiny
| new features (like installer and fast package management), but also in
| general it’s just running very well. I installed it on some 10 different
| desktop and laptop machines over the past few weeks, and every single one has
| gone very smoothly.
