Feargal Sharkey - wasn't he a singer once?  

I find the idea of ISPs disconnecting their own users at the behest of a
3rd party, with no appeal, judge or jury, to say the least, more than a
little unacceptable.

Magna carta did establish some important rights... how about a jury?  an
independent judge?
