It's a good post, but I don't necessarily agree that Ubuntu alone deserves all
the blame. Other GNU/Linux vendors try to do the same thing.
It bothered me that recently when Shuttleworth blogged (wow! He blogged) about
hiring a /handful/ of developers to 'challenge the Mac', the media went
insane, covering this little recruitment step like it was the Second Coming.
Don't Red Hat already have /thousands/ of people doing something similar?
Don't get me wrong. Ubuntu is a media darling and it gets GNU/Linux more
exposure. Either way, as the Free desktop grows more popular (as in widespread
in this context), the proportion of those that recgonise Freedom will decline.
It's Software Freedom Day. Time to /educate/. RMS has tried this for a quarter
of a century while some other kids advocated ActiveX, Mono, and MS-OOXML.NET.
