Still Converting Folks To Free Software
,----[ Quote ]
| The lady paid around $1000.00 for a computer with Microsoft Windows, Office
| and other programs. I believe she bought when she still lived on the West
| Coast. Recently, with spyware and viruses infecting her system, she sought
| help from another tech guru. He discovered that her Windows license was
| illegitimate, and could not verify her other licenses. He then took his
| scheduled vacation, with her box still not working. They had no formal
| agreement - he was simply helping her out as a favor. She would have to wait
| a week for him to return before she could use her computer.
|
| Seeing an opportunity to help someone in need, I naturally offered to help.
| So I installed a GNU/Linux system this weekend and handed it to her last
| night. I gave her a tour of the KDE environment.

KDE for Grannies

| Now I’m looking forward to the first email from my Granny. Yes, I’m
| incredibly proud of her.
|
| And I’m happy about all the effort that was taken to make KDE applications
| easy to use and easy to understand. Even for Grannies.
