Fedora 11 vs. Ubuntu 9.04
,----[ Quote ]
| Put Fedora 11 on my laptop just out of boredom, some notes:
|
| * Fedora 11 SELinux by default: Cool but confusing
| * Fedora 11 repositories: Better selection than previous releases, still
| not as many choices as Ubuntu
| * Ubuntu still wins on the default menu organization for new users (just
| a bit easier to navigate)
| * Fedora bootup vs. Ubuntu bootup is about a wash, they both look good
| and are fast
| * Default themes: Neither will win a competition on looks, Linux Mint is
| much better looking than both

That FUDCon poster is catching on.

| There’s a nice entry on the Red Hat press blog about some of the interesting

Fedora: A Hat with a History
,----[ Quote ]
| Say you don't like something, then change it! We've seen lots of change in
| Red Hat and Fedora over the years, in terms of visual looks, feature sets,
| support and more, as the community has spoken and Red Hat has listened.
|
| That is why I believe that Fedora is a great distribution with a great
| future, and is most certainly a hat with a history.

Why I switched back from Ubuntu to Fedora
,----[ Quote ]
| There’s a lot of hype/war on the “Mono issue” lately but I don’t want to get
| into all that. My opinion is, yet again, simple: nothing related to
| Microsoft, please. Microsoft proved themselves to be evil every step of the
| way. They don’t like free software, they don’t like people using free
| software, they don’t like companies that bundle their hardware with free
| software. All of these can be fine until they start bribing judges,
| pressuring governments (governments for crying out loud!), blackmailing
| OEM’s, using their licenses against every single computer user they can. We
| have seen a couple of their trojan horses of licenses (just a quick look at
| http://www.groklaw.net/ would suffice) which means we cannot and more
| importantly should not trust anything coming from Microsoft.
