Canonical's /servers/ are in the Isle of Man (presumably for reasons to
do with software patents). Canonical's /founder/ is from South Africa.
Most of Canonical's developers are probably from the US (although if one
counts the whole of the EU as a single state, then it's probably a close
call). The again, South Americans seem to be extremely ubiquitous in the
Free Software community too.
All distros have their geographical origins, but in terms of who
actually contributes, ultimately they are all simply from "the World".
Free Software is a great leveller.
