A good way to see this on WindowsXP is to open up some tabs in IE.
New tabs, switching tabs, clicking links, puts IE into some kind of
internal frenzy. The system is effectively locked for 20 seconds.
Can't change tabs. Can't change windows. Can't put IE down
(minimize).
