I think installing an different Linux OS as the first choice to fix this 
problem is rubbish.  I think Hadron and Moshe are rubbish.

If Moshe or Hadron took even two minutes to think they would realize 
that it is idiotic to advise someone who very well might qualify for 
warranty support to install an unsupported OS first thing.  Especially 
when it appears that said poster might be a newbie to Linux.

Better advice would be to either post a real answer or advise him to 
contact the vendor for warranty support.  If and only if that fails 
would installing another distribution be on the table.

And before anyone asks, I don't know the answer.  I've never used an 
Acer Aspire One.  Unlike Moshe I don't think it is a good idea to toss 
out answers just to see what happens.

Again, please don't anybody listen to Moshe's or Hadron's advice.  They 
do not want you to succeed.  They are here to cause trouble.
