No surprise there. Before I got my iPhone I had a Samsung something or other
with Windows Mobile on it for two weeks. Imagine an XP desktop shrunk down
to fit a smartphone screen - that's what it was like. The Samsung had a
generous amount of screen real estate but you had to use the stylus to
really get anything done due to everything being tiny and crammed together.
Their attempt to scale Windows for a mobile device was poor to say the
least.

My brother once programmed for Xircom. He was sent to Redmond to try to get Microsoft to simplify Windows CE (this was several years back). He tried to explain to them that "kitchen sink" principle didn't work in mobile devices. Didn't even phase Microsoft -- it was more or less, "Thank you, but we're the ones who really know what we're doing here."
