GIMP 2.8 and its (huge) improvements to the User Interface!

Episode 119: Get your Palette!

,----[ Quote ]
| This is a short show about how to extract the colours out of
| an image and put them into a palette. The next version of
| GIMP will allow the export of the palettes in a lot of
| designer and programmer friendly ways.

Tweak photos with Fotoxx (Open Source)

,----[ Quote ]
| In fact, if you need a lightweight tool that can help you to
| manage and tweak your photos with a minimum of effort,
| Fotoxx can do the job just fine. Fotoxxâs interface looks
| deceptively spartan: the main window sports a single menu
| and a toolbar that contains buttons for frequently used
| functions. But behind the simple interface hide quite a few
| powerful features like support for the RAW format (this
| feature requires the UFRaw package installed on your
| system), an easy-to-use panorama stitching function, and the
| ability to create HDR photos.

Episode 118: Looking in the Crystal Ball at GIMP 2.8

,----[ Quote ]
| I take my big soft lens polishing cloth out of the cupboard and give my
| crystal ball a good rub. Usually I use it for writing reports about kids,
| but today I look at the upcoming GIMP 2.8.

GIMP Project One Step Closer to Next Release

,----[ Quote ]
| The open source image manipulation program, GIMP, released an unstable
| development version of its next stable release. Obviously, this isn't a
| version you'll want if you need a reliable app that won't interfere with your
| workflow. If, however, you want to peek under the hood to see what's coming,
| then grab this download and have a look.

First Ever Web Design Using The Gimp!

,----[ Quote ]
| Hey all, Iâm very excited about this. Iâm a web designer/developer coming
| from the Windows world. What that means is Iâve been using Adobe Photoshop,
| Dreamweaver, etc to design and produce web sitesâ for a number of years.
| Since switching over to Linux, Iâve been trying to figure out what were the
| FOSS equivalents. The conclusion I came to is The Gimp and Bluefish
| (unstable). Iâm currently working on a web site that I plan to launch this
| weekend, but I donât want to show you the goods just yet.
